Broken Websites

One of the most frustrating calls you can get from a customer is “I was trying order your product on your website and it didn’t work.” When you get this call, you also know many people didn’t bother to call and just moved on.

  • When is the last time you checked your website forms?
  • Did the right person get the email alert?
  • Did it contain the information you need to serve your customer?

Spring is coming so it is time for some website Spring cleaning. Probably the best place to start is make sure your website is registered with Google Search-Console. Google will regularly check your website and alert you of 404 errors and usability issues.

Second, visit all (or at least the most important) pages on your website to check them. Use a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari) or a different computer to see if there are any problems.

And third, use a tool like GTmetrix to see an analysis of your website for load-time and possible errors.

It is worth your time, even if you find 2 or 3 things to fix or improve each month.
